A woman was hit and killed by a CTA train after jumping onto the Pink Line tracks at the Kedzie station, officials said Sunday.
The woman, described as being in her 30s, jumped on to the tracks at about 8:40 p.m., said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.
She was pinned under the train, and fire crews extricated her, said Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson. She died on the scene.
Pink Line service was affected temporarily but resumed by about 11:20 p.m., according to the CTA’s official Twitter account.
